John F. Lopez is the company's Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer and is a well-known leader in the mortgage banking industry with over 20 years of experience.  His extensive background includes expertise in finance, capital markets, operations, finance, securities, credit and governance.  Mr. Lopez oversees the bank's business units and is the visionary behind the bank's long term strategic growth.

 

Specializing in both residential and commercial mortgage lending, financial planning and wealth management. Mr. Lopez's services are primarily focused in the South Florida market providing exceptional lending products and strategic financial advice for investors and small businesses.

 

John is a Registered Financial Consultant, a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist, and is the bank's Principal Loan Originator. He responsible for the coordination and management of corporate matters; for the strategic planning and management of lending; and for the company's general mortgage lending and servicing relationships. Prior to forming Stewards of Capital in 2005, John served as a financial advisor at Washington Mutual Bank and at Wachovia Bank where he held a Series-7 (GSRE) and Series-66 Licenses.

 

Ownership

John is a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School and holds a Masters Degree in Business with a Concentration in Finance and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business both of which he earned at Nova Southeastern University.  John is married to Lori and father to Olivia and Gabriella. 

 

Mr. Lopez is a proud member of the Certified Mortgage Planning Institute (CMPS®), International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC®), the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards (CFP®), and the Florida Association of Mortgage Bankers (FAMB®).
